Jordan undergoes knee surgery, out 8 weeks

Jordan Farmar underwent knee surgery yesterday to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. Jordan will begin rehab shortly and is expected to miss the next eight weeks of the season.

The 30-minute procedure, performed by Dr. Clarence Shields of the Kerlan-Orthopaedic Group, was deemed a success.

Jordan is currently resting in good spirits at home with his family and is looking forward to a full comeback with the Lakers.

We are going to miss you very, very much for the time that you will be out. I hope that it will be less than eight weeks. One comment I would like to make about your playing skills. I often wish that you might slow down just a little when go for the basket with a lay-up or a direct basket shot. It appears that your speed and skill often make your shots hit the glass too hard, and therefore bounce right out. I love it when you attack and jump for the basket and make a slam-dunk. Perhaps you could get Pau Gasol to go for more slam-dunks. He has the height and the ability to do it. I sometimes think that he plays to timidly. He ;played much more aggresively when he played for Spain in the World Championships.

Hey Jordan! I hope you’re doing well. I know you’re going to fully recover in no time. I feel your pain because I as well went through my 1st surgery ever this year. I tore my meniscus as well as my ACL. It was not easy at all. I was out for 3 months, so 8 weeks should be a breeze. Don’t miss physical therapy you’re gonna need it. Just take it easy and by the time you know it you won’t be needing your crutches anymore :o) I really hope to see you back on the court soon. Take care
